Do You Hear What I Hear?

If deja vu made a sound, that would be what I heard this morning. Once again, and as if I don't already know I need this, I'm being asked me lose weight. To start, 5-6 pounds by February. At that time, Dr. Vedula will run the bloodwork for the liver enzymes again. If they have gone down, she will give me 2 more months to lose 5-6 pounds, and so on until the enzymes are back into the normal range. All of this is to rule out the possibilty of a fatty liver. Apparently some people who are "slightly" overweight, who have a resistance to insulin, or have a family history of diabetes are prone to have a fatty liver. I am also scheduled for an abdominal ultrasound for Wendesday morning. There are also some specific blood tests that she is looking to have run, if they haven't been done already (she is checking with my family doctor). If after my follow-up appointment in February, the liver enzymes have not gone down she will schedule the biopsy. Losing 5 pounds in that amount of time shouldn't be too hard. With the help of Weight Watchers, I am confident that I can do it. Let's just pray that losing those 5 pounds will be the solution.

Dave and I have been SO busy lately that so many things aren't done that should be. We haven't even started shopping for Christmas yet, our Christmas tree is still in the box on the living room floor and our house is in total shambles. In the past two weeks we have both been hit with the flu and thankfully it seems to finally be over for both of us, or so I hope. I am SO looking forward to two weeks off for the Christmas season. I could really use the time to get caught up and then relax. :)

From Dave and I, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Love and hugs,
Melissa
